Who should pay for my training?

According the Occupational Health and Safety Act of New Brunswick, section 9(2)(c) "...every employer shall provide such information, instruction, training and supervision as are necessary to ensure an employee's safety". If you are not currently employed but wish to take some of our training you may do so at your own expense.

Where do I find information on workplace health and safety requirements in New Brunswick?

The best place to find information on current health and safety information in New Brunswick is the provincial Acts & Regulations. The Occupational Health and Safety Act is a "who's who" of workplace safety and details the responsibilities each party. There are also several Regulations that detail workplace safety specifics, the most commonly referred to is General Regulation 91-191. Within this document you can find specifics you need to work safe and in compliance. It is important to note that the Act and Regulations outline minimum requirements and that many companies often adopt policies and procedures that exceed these requirements. When this happens these are then considered the legal requirement.
